Interviewer: Was there a reason for Glenn to move out of NY?

GD: I was just sick of New York. There’s nothing but yuppies and dumb asses who think the worlds at their feet. Just because they dress fashionably or extravagantly. Off course you get the same types here in Los Angeles, but less. Also, there are better and more motivated musicians here.

Interviewer: Who is the best musician Glenn Danzig has worked with?

GD: I don’t want to answer that question because it’s not fair. They were all equally good, because either way, to play with me, you gotta be perfect. But to still say something, Tommy Victor is my favorite and I mean this socially as well.

Interviewer: Is Glenn still in contact with Christ, who defined the sound of the first albums?

GD: No I don’t see him anymore. Also, that sound thing isn’t true either. John Christ is a good guitar player who played every part, but I was the one who developed the sound of Danzig and Christ played what he was told.

Interviewer: Are Cash and Orbison related spirits?

GD: About Cash and Orbison, yes, I feel very related to them. To me they have been two great musicians and I do everything for these kinds of people. Did you know I wrote that song for Cash in less than fifteen minutes! I’m not interested in writing something for a young artist. They just have to pull it off themselves. I had to do it too in the old days. Some guys expect you to take care of everything for them, to get the honors themselves afterwards.

Interviewer: Weren’t there plans to work with Cradle Of Filth?

GD: Indeed, but we didn’t come to an agreement. The conditions were inadequate and I didn’t feel like participating. It’s done, I never stand still with stuff like that. In a short while I’ll produce Doyle’s first album, who used to play with the Misfits and I’m gonna direct my first movie. The script is about Voodoo and I look forward to it. I’ll also make a blues record, but then with very dark and depressive blues. Therefore I’ve spoken to some musicians, including Jerry Cantrell.

Interviewer: So the years long battle between the Misfits and Danzig is settled then?

GD: No not at all! I’m still friends with Doyle and will have him as a special guest during my shows. What the Misfits did after I left is to cry about. I was the Misfits and not those jackasses who tour under that name.

Interviewer: Doesn’t it bother you that they still play under that name and bring out the old songs?

GD: Whatever, I still own the rights. To me it’s like remaking a film classic, but with bad actors.

Interviewer: Do you have trouble publishing comics in puritan America?

GD: With Verotik we just celebrated our tenth birthday and I’m glad we were able to keep our head above water. So in America there are less or few problems for publishing those comics and we have a very faithful public. Europe is actually the problem, because we can’t export our comics there. They are always held in custody at the border. The explanation they give is that it’s too violent and sexually explicit. It’s just ridiculous, and also the reason I don’t like to come over too, you can’t even bring guns here.

Interviewer: When can we expect to see you in Belgium again?

GD: I won't come to Belgium for this tour, simply because no one was interested in booking us. I don’t really care, do what you want. After these concerts I’m done anyway. I still wanna make music and put out records, but I won’t tour anymore. There are other things I find more fun, like making movies.

Interviewer: Does Glenn take part in Satanism?

GD: For all I know, there’s a lot of Bullshit about that. I’ve always been against organized religions and Satanism is one of them. I get really irritated at all those ridiculous Black Metal bands who sing about Satan and the devil but don’t know shit about it. If you read The Satanic Bible by Anton Szandor LaVey, you’ll find out that it’s something completely different. It’s a study that says everyone should take care of themselves and is free, something that has a lot to do with rebellion. That’s the ultimate form of Satanism. But doing that in an organised manner or in group, I’ll pass for that. I understand that some people think I’m a Satanist and that I worship the devil daily. My lyrics are explicit about that and my opinions about what should happen with some countries and regions like the Middle East, have also given reasons for that.

Interviewer: So what should happen with those regions?

GD: Bomb them with nuclear weapons, that’s all. Those retarded religious idiots don’t deserve better. Only the fact they kill for religion is stupid enough.

Interviewer: Does Glenn do martial arts for the spiritual or mental side of things?

GD: For both, but in the first place to kick someone’s ass once in a while. Everyone who gets in my way and ignores my warnings, can count on a few punches. The spiritual part is like Satanism, everyone has there own thoughts on it, but nobody knows shit about it. Every Asian culture has their specific martial arts and there’s always another way of life and thinking behind it. I find it humiliating for those cultures that they are all seen as one and the same and that their spiritualism and philosophy is seen as some sort of cultural entertainment. If one does the effort of looking up martial arts on internet, they’ll come to the conclusion that there are many different kinds.

Interviewer: I suspect Glenn not to keep himself busy with just plain karate?

GD: Karate is for pussies and exists out of studied holds and moves. I used to practice Muay Thai, but at the moment I do Jeet Kune Do. These martial arts, that can be compared with what Bruce Lee did, are very fast and deadly. You have to know that what Bruce Lee showed in his movies isn’t the same as what he did and exercised outside of them.

Interviewer: So what happened at the Tuba City Show?

GD: Everyone should know the reason for that incident. The stupid internet, with its stupid rumors and false information has proven it’s use already. It was a situation where I couldn’t win. If I’d hit the first time, then I would be in jail now and that bastard would be dead.

Interviewer: How does Glenn react to the comments that he’s a difficult person?

GD: I’m just nobody’s slave and and I do what I want. In this day and age, a lot of people have problems with that, just because they wanna manipulate you. That doesn’t work with me, because I always stand up for myself and then off course they say I’m a difficult person. A lot of people in my direct surroundings find me, believe me or not, a nice guy.
